Dear K-12 Parent/Guardian,
We are excited to announce a new collaboration with the Mentor Public Library that will result in additional resources being provided for our students.
Recognizing the tremendous value the Mentor Public Library provides our community, we have developed a new program that will make library digital resources available to all students of Mentor Public Schools.
The Mentor Public Schools Library Card program will provide any student who applies access to all digital content available at Mentor Public Libraries including digital books, videos, magazines, online courses, and even SAT/ACT test prep. A full list of digital resources can be found here: MPL Digital Services and
In addition to immediate digital resource access, all students who have signed up will receive a physical Mentor Public Library Card, shown below, and it will allow students to borrow up to three books at a time from any library branch.
In order to access these resources, students can sign up using the following link: https://www.mentorpl.org/machform/view.php?id=69958
While the website states there is an 18 year old age requirement, Mentor Public Library is waiving this requirement for Mentor students.
Please note: we began to pilot this program in early March, 2020 at Mentor High School. While many students signed up during their advisory period, we would ask those students to still complete the online application to expedite access to the digital resources. Once completed, the Library will process and email students their library card information.
Again, the Mentor Public Library Card will allow…
- 24/7 access to online resources, including databases and electronic media. There are no overdue fees or other costs associated with MPL’s digital resources.
- Up to 3 books may be borrowed from any MPL branch. These items are subject to MPL’s lending policies, including loan periods, renewals, overdue fines, and bills for lost or damaged items. The card can only be “upgraded” to a full-access library card at the request of a parent or guardian.
- Students in grades K-12 may apply for this card.
